Neuromodulation: A New Medical Treatment? Neuromodulation involves the use of an electrical or electromagnetic stimulating device that modulates, or adjusts, a specific neural pathway that is thought to be dysfunctional and thus creating a disorder or disease. The goal is to relieve symptoms by using preprogrammed stimulation patterns on the patient. Examples of neuromodulation devices include: • Spinal Cord Stimulators Pico-Tesla’s Resonator™ device uses a low-level pulsed magnetic field as a form of magnetic stimulation therapy. They’ve used this technology to conduct Clinical Studies in diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, Fibromyalgia and Alzheimer’s disease.
